Professional Interpretation Services

Global works closely with our sister company Interpretation Solutions (I.S.), under the same management, to serve all your language conversion needs. While Global handles your translation projects, I.S. offers top quality multilingual interpretation services that help resolve any communication issues due to language barriers.

Our Services
Our accredited and certified interpreters provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services in multiple languages, catering for both your business and personal needs. Services can be provided on-site at locations of your choice within Ontario, be it at your business office, lawyer's office, at court, or other pre-specified venues. We also provide interpreters for phone or video conferencing.

Our team of professional interpreters covers a wide range of experience and expertise, from industry knowledge, to government policies, to legal process, to cultural sensitivity. Depending on your interpretation assignment, we will find you an interpreter who is familiar with your subject matter and is qualified for the purpose of the assignment. Where a special purpose interpreter is required, e.g. accredited court interpreter, we will arrange one for you. We have interpreters who are qualified to meet the requirements of whichever official agency in Ontario you are dealing with.

You can count on our interpreters for their:
  • Language expertise
  • General knowledge of the subject matter for interpretation
  • Technical knowledge of specific field (e.g. IT, financial, medical), where required
  • Good understanding of the cultures of the two parties in conversation
  • Ability to establish direct communication between both parties
  • Ability to convey messages clearly and accurately
  • Ability to stay impartial and unbiased
  • Professional capability to maintain the original essence of the conversation
Languages
We provide interpretation services in many different languages and dialects, primarily paired with English. The service requests we most commonly receive are for French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Italian, Korean and Japanese, but we actually offer over 100 languages.

If you or your clients have a background from another part of the world, or have particular accents, we recommend that you let us know at the time of booking so that where feasible we will arrange for an interpreter who is familiar with that kind of accent and the linguistic use or culture from that part of the world.

Quality Assurance
To ensure that you get top notch interpretation, we operate by very stringent criteria:
  • Recruit only experienced and/or accredited interpreters
Our interpreters all belong to professional associations. Most are Certified Court Interpreters and/or Certified Conference Interpreters conferred by the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) or member associations of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC). A good number of them are accredited with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, and/or the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General.

  • Assign native speaker of the other language for your assignment
If you speak English and you need an interpreter to communicate with your Italian-speaking client, we typically assign you an interpreter whose native language is Italian. This way we ensure proficiency in the language foreign to you, because you will be more capable of understanding and refining any responses translated into English if necessary.

  • Monitor interpreters' performance through client feedback
We track interpreters' performance to determine their level of competence from our clients' feedback. This allows us to make adjustments to our pool so that we are working with active interpreters with consistently high quality. We also engage in continuous improvement of our processes and guides to professionals to serve you better.

  • Follow quality process
We also follow a strict quality assurance process that involves client preparation and feedback. Check out Interpretation - Best Practices on tips as to how you as a client can maximize the benefits of an interpretation session.
Client satisfaction guaranteed
If our assigned interpreter cannot perform to the professional standard that we set or you are not happy with his/her ability to carry out the pre-defined duties, we are happy to provide free service of a different interpreter for your next order.

Confidentiality
We appreciate and respect that discussions which take place during a business/client meeting, a legal deposition, a court hearing, a medical appointment, an insurance claim or other occasions where interpreters are needed may touch on highly sensitive personal information, classified business information or trade secrets. All our interpreters sign confidentiality agreements which protect the privacy of your information. Our interpreters also abide by a Professional Code of Ethics which requires respect for client confidentiality.

Order and Payment
Interpretation service is normally charged at an hourly rate, with a minimum of two working hours for on-site, and one hour over the phone. For on-site services, an extra hour is added to cover the interpreter's travel to and from the venue. (A premium may be charged for extended travel.)

Our rates for interpretation depends on the language pairs, consecutive or simultaneous, how much advance notice is provided, the number of parties involved and whether there is a requirement for specialized knowledge.

We require a 50% for bookings, with payment in full by two working days before assignment. Bookings made within five days of assignment need to be paid in full.

For cancellations made at least three working days prior to appointment, you will get back a refund minus an administration fee; otherwise payment will not be refunded. Please notify us of any rescheduling as soon as possible as we may have to substitute interpreter if the originally assigned one is not available. Administration fee applies.
